The Fruits of His Labors

This year Jeffery decided that he wanted to try his hand at a garden. So we decided on watermelon and cantalope. We planted them around the base of a newly planted nectarine and plum tree.

Jeffery has hand watered them everyday (he is currently working on irrigation, so they can be watered while we're in Flag for the 4th) and we have watched them grow bigger and bigger. And then the day Boyd has waited for since he first helped Dad plant a little seed...

We finally got to eat some! (they're in the under-construction fort) Nice and sweet... Good job honey on growing your melons!

We have a lot more little yellow flowers on the vines that will hopefully grow nice and sweet too. We are still waiting to try a cantalope.

Wow it worked I thought gardens were just something we did to show obediance... well done Son well done!

That fruit is looking wonderful! The boys sure look like they are enjoying it. I bet their smiles made the hard work worth every minute!
